Matthew Short and D’Arcy Short commenced the knockout match as the opening pair for the Adelaide Strikers. D’Arcy Short fell victim to a caught-and-bowled dismissal by Behrendorff in the second over, and Andrew Tye removed Matthew Short with just 13 runs on the board. Despite the early setbacks, in-form opener Jake Weatherald played a pivotal role, achieving a 32-ball half-century.
The Strikers displayed a commendable recovery, with Ben Manenti and Thornton continuing to accumulate runs. While their partnership may not have always been visually appealing, it effectively maintained the scoreboard with a 34-run collaboration. Another unbroken 26-run stand for the 8th wicket allowed the Strikers to finish their innings strongly, reaching a total of 155/7.
