Choosing to bat first, captain Matthew Short and D Arcy Short opened the match for Adelaide Strikers. Matthew Short dismissed by Mujeeb Ur Rahman earlier. Chris Lynn’s played with courageous approach while D’Arcy Short struggled for some time. Lynn’s 27-ball fifty alleviated the pressure. Eventually Short also secured a fifty.

Mujeeb Rahman also dismissed Chris Lynn, who played an impactful innings. He scored 56 runs from 34 balls including 4 sixes and 4 fours. Jake Weatherald sent to golden duck by Mujeeb Rahman.  Adam Hose also did not perform well, removed by Peter Siddle.

Jamie Overton then provided a powerful finish, while Harry Nielsen used his smart batting approach, hitting some boundaries and score valuable 17 runs from 5 balls quickly. Adelaide Strikers scored 177/6 within 20 overs.

A total of 177 is considered slightly above par on this pitch. This was made possible by Chris Lynn’s incredible batting approach.

Mujeeb Ur Rahman claimed three wickets, while Peter Siddle and Will Sutherland each secured one wicket.

The Renegades secured their first win comfortably today while chasing 177. Although Joe Clarke had to leave the field due to a hamstring issue and Quinton de Kock was out for a duck by David Payne, Joe Clarke and Jake Fraser-McGurk played aggressively. Shaun Marsh replaced Joe Clarke.

Fraser-McGurk effectively hitting powerful sixes in home ground, Shaun Marsh played a more reserved innings, mainly attacking the Cameron Boyce. McGurk scoring 70 runs lbw by James Bazley and Shaun Marsh who played till the end but before win the match, he also removed by David Payne. Both McGurk and Marsh secured Half century.

Jonathan Wells and Mackenzie Harvey did not play well. Jake Fraser-McGurkin partner with Shaun Marsh showed an incredible batting performance, Melbourne Renegades scored a total of 178/6, secure a victory with 8 balls to spare. Another defeat on the road for the Adelaide Strikers.

David Payne took three wickets, while Jamie Overton, Cameron Boyce, and James Bazley each secured one wicket.
