West Indies Innings

West Indies posted a commendable total of 231 runs despite losing the toss and opting to bat. The team faced early setbacks with four wickets falling swiftly to Xavier Bartlett’s impressive bowling, including openers Alick Athanaze and Justin Greaves, as well as the dismissal of Captain Shai Hope.

However, a pivotal partnership between Keacy Carty and Roston Chase saw them contribute 110 runs for the fifth wicket. Chase, after adding crucial 59 runs, was bowled out by Adam Zampa. Unfortunately, Carty, who was on track for a century, fell victim to an unfortunate run-out by Sean Abbott in the 41st over. Following Carty’s dismissal, no other West Indies batsmen managed to hold their ground for an extended period. Matthew Forde added 19 runs towards the end, pushing the total to a respectable 231/10.

Debutant Xavier Bartlett delivered a stellar performance, emerging as Australia’s top bowler with four wickets. Sean Abbott and Cameron Green each secured two wickets, while Adam Zampa managed to take one wicket.
