Nepal U19 Innings

Nepal’s U19 team faced a challenging task in chasing down India’s formidable total of 298 runs against their strong bowling lineup. Opening batsmen Deepak Bohara and Arjun Kumal made a decent start, collecting 39 runs without losing a wicket within the first power play.

However, despite Nepal’s promising beginning with a 48-run opening stand, the team soon encountered setbacks. Deepak Bohara, adding 22 runs, fell victim to Raj Limbani, and Saumy Pandey dismissed Arjun Kumal at 26 runs. Captain Dev Khanal displayed a classy performance, fighting a lone battle until the end and becoming the top scorer for Nepal with 33 runs. Unfortunately, he too couldn’t stay for long, being bowled out by Saumy Pandey, and Nepal quickly stumbled to 77/7. Aakash Chand and Durgesh Gupta fought till the end without losing their wickets. Aakash contributed 19 runs, while Durgesh added 29 runs, helping Nepal reach a total of 165/9.

The last-wicket pair resiliently batted for an unbroken 67-ball period, showing determination to protect their wickets. Despite their efforts, Nepal’s tournament journey came to an end. India secured a comfortable victory, advancing to the semifinals where they will face South Africa on Tuesday.

Once again, Saumy Pandey emerged as the most successful bowler for India U19, claiming four wickets. Arshin Kulkarni took two wickets, while Raj Limbani, Aaradhya Shukla, and Murugan Abhishek each managed to take one wicket.
