Bangar said, “It’s my privilege to be with the Punjab Kings again. We have a solid core of players, evident from having the lowest number of players released this year. The challenge is to provide the squad with the best support during and after the season to strengthen the team and achieve success.”

Bangar served as the head coach of Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2022 and 2023 IPL editions, although his contract was not renewed for the latest season.

Since then, they have not made the playoffs of the IPL, often finishing in the bottom half. “We had the best season under him.
