After losing the toss, New Zealand chose to bat first, with Will Young and Rachin Ravindra opening the match. Bangladesh’s seam bowlers showcased an impressive performance, creating significant challenges for the hosts in this final ODI. Rachin Ravindra, after hitting 2 fours, was dismissed by Tanzim Hasan Sakib. Henry Nicholls failed to contribute any runs, getting dismissed by Tanzim Hasan Sakib as well.

Despite a partnership run between Tom Latham and Will Young, New Zealand’s innings struggled to gather momentum, with the Bangladeshi bowlers consistently hitting the stumps. Shoriful Islam bowled out Tom Latham, and Will Young, who scored 26 runs, was dismissed by Shoriful Islam. Josh Clarkson added 16 runs, and Adithya Ashok contributed 10 runs.

Tanzim Hasan Sakib secured three wickets, and Shoriful Islam added another three, while Soumya Sarkar also claimed three wickets. Mustafizur Rahman claimed the final wicket, as Bangladesh’s pace bowlers took all 10 wickets. New Zealand managed a total of 98 runs, losing all 10 wickets.

After losing the first two matches, Bangladesh clinched a commanding victory. Bangladesh ensured a smooth innings without any setbacks. Soumya Sarkar and Anamul Haque opened the run chase of 99 runs for Bangladesh. But due to some discomfort in his right eye, Soumya Sarkar retired hurt from this match.

Anamul Haque and Najmul Hossain Shanto smoothly ran the innings as well, both played a superb inning. Anamul Haque scored 37 runs from 33 balls, dismissed by William Orourke. Then skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto in partnership with Litton Das completed the third ODI. Captain Najmul H. Shanto achieved an unbeaten 51 runs from 42 balls and Bangladesh chased down the total with 34.5 overs to spare.

From the New Zealand side, William ORourke only managed to take a single wicket. But New Zealand won the series 2-1. First T20I will be played on 27 December McLean Park, Napier at 11:40 AM. The second T20I will play on December 29 and the last T20I play on December 31^st.
