Virat Kohli return home due to family emergency, who recently reached on the South Africa tour for the Test series, has come back to India from South Africa. Although the exact emergency is not known yet, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) indicates that there is a high probability that he will rejoin with the first Test, set to start at Centurion on December 26. Kohli was absent from the three-day intra-squad match. Virat Kohli is expected to return on Friday (December 22).

Ruturaj Gaikwad has also been absent from the upcoming two-Test series due to a finger injury. He sustained the injury on the ring finger of his right hand during the second ODI while taking a catch in Gqeberha. In his absence, India included Rajat Patidar in the final ODI in Paarl.

Ruturaj Gaikwad is under the supervision of the BCCI Medical Team. It has now been confirmed that there is no chance of his recovery before the two Test series. Consequently, the team management, in consultation with the BCCI, has opted to release him immediately, and he is expected to return to India by Saturday.

India A Player Abhimanyu Easwaran might be replaced Ruturaj Gaikwad ahead of test series which will be start on Dec 26. It is expected that Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal will opening the test series. KL Rahul as the wicketkeeper in the Test squad.

India recently concluding with the ODI series on Thursday and the three-day intra-squad match finishing on Friday. From there, they will travel to Centurion for the first Test series. The Boxing Day Test conclude on December 30 and all the players will regroup at Cape Town for the commencement of the final Test which will start on January 3.

Consequently, the wicket-keeper Ishan Kishan has been excluded from the Test squad and in response, the Men’s Selection Committee has designated Mr. KS Bharat as his replacement. Three-day intra-squad practice match

In the three-day intra-squad match started on from December 20, majority of Indian players have had commendable performances. Shubman Gill scores a century in this intra-squad practice game.
