IPL 2024 auction PBKS mistakenly buy wrong player in the IPL 2024 auction, request for a reversal is denied by auctioneer Mallika Sagar. But Punjab Kings tried to withdraw their bid for Shashank Singh, but their request was rejected by auctioneer Mallika Sagar.
Mallika asked, “Was it a mistaken name? You do not want to keep the player?”. PBKS owner said we are talking about Shashank Singh. However, the hammer has already fallen. Both Player No. 236 and 237 have been awarded to you.”

Punjab Kings would like to clarify that Shashank Singh was always on our target list. The confusion was due to 2 players of the same name being on the list. We are delighted to have him onboard and see him contribute to our success.

PBKS wants to buy a 19-year-old Shashank Singh from Bengal who hasn’t even yet played first-class cricket and another one is Shashank Singh batting all-rounder who is from Bhilai, Chhattisgarh played 10 matches for Sunrisers Hyderabad in India Premier League 2023. He scored only 69 runs from 10 matches. IPL 2024 auction PBKS mistakenly buy wrong player Shashank Singh which was organised in Dubai on December 19.

During Indian Premier League 2024 auction another incident happened when Delhi Capital missed placing a bid for Sumeet Verma but Ricky Ponting and Sourav Ganguly quickly rectified their error and immediately informed the auctioneer before the hammer fell. As a result, Delhi Capitals safely bought Sumeet Verma.
