After winning the toss and choosing to bowl, the Renegades started brightly. Both the Scorchers’ openers were dismissed within the first two overs. Zak Crawley was dismissed by Tom Rogers and Cooper Connolly was bowled out by Mujeeb Ur Rahman.

However, Aaron Hardie and Josh Inglis came together, continuing the partnership for the Perth Scorchers. They balanced the score with aggression, maintaining pressure on Melbourne Renegades’s bowlers. They contributed 120-run partnership to the team. Both of them made half century. Josh Inglis scoring 64 runs from 44 balls, got dismissed by Tom Rogers and then Aaron Hardie adding 57 runs from 41 balls, was removed by Adam Zampa.

After Josh Inglis’s dismissal, no other batters of Perth Scorchers did not impact so much on the scoreboard. As wickets kept falling, Perth Scorchers never achieved the finish they desired. Perth Scorchers scored a total of 162/10 within in 19.4 overs.

Melbourne Renegades saw impressive bowling performances, with Tom Rogers and Will Sutherland both securing three wickets each. Kane Richardson, Adam Zampa, and Mujeeb Ur Rahman also contributed with one wicket each.

In the first two overs, Melbourne Renegades’ openers Quinton de Kock and Joe Clarke had a promising start against Perth Scorchers’ formidable pace bowlers. Quinton de Kock scored 23 runs but was dismissed by Lance Morris, while Joe Clarke contributed 23 runs before being removed by Jhye Richardson.

Although Shaun Marsh and Joe Clarke formed a brilliant partnership during the run chase, Melbourne Renegades faced trouble once it concluded, Marsh emerged as the only batsman who could score at a good rate, while others struggled with their timing.

Perth Scorchers clinched the victory with exceptional death-over bowling performances by Jason Behrendorff, Jhye Richardson, Andrew Tye, and Lance Morris.

Earlier in the match, Hardie and Inglis notched fifties, ensuring Perth Scorchers surpassed the 160-run mark. Initially, the total of 162 runs didn’t seem sufficient, but Perth Scorchers, with their exceptional bowling lineup, successfully defended it.

Lance Morris and Andrew Tye secured two wickets each, while Jason Behrendorff and Jhye Richardson each took one wicket.
