Rohit’s 1st press conference after 2023 Worldcup, he expressed his thoughts in a press conference regarding playing Test matches in challenging conditions.
”Those guys who are not playing here before they are quite excited to this challenge. Speaking about the condition, bowlers dominate here a lot. Obviously due to these conditions here, the bounce, the movement was seen and obviously the game goes on it becomes little cracks open up little bit.”

”You see the variable bounce as the game goes on. So, throughout the five days, I can’t pin point this one particular day where always nice to bat because everyday has its own challenge and that is something gives experience whenever you came here. As the game goes on, it goes tougher and tougher, these are the challenges and these are the kind of thing you want in your career.”
”Come out and play against quality bowling attack in difficult condition and get the result for your team. so it will be nice for all of us to put your hand up get the job done for team. But what we do it, discuss how we can do it in the time, we speak to each other, we have discussed how we play. We came here a week ego and we had decent time to prepare for the test match as well. Now each individual wants to take up that role and how they want to play its complete freedom to them. Every bowler has a massive role, spinners as well.”
”Every time we came here seamers have done job for us and seamers also play second fitted role because sometimes pitch assistance for seamers a lot. A lot of seaming bowling that happens and spinners has to do their role is probably contain or if they got wicket and add that pressure which is always nice.”
”We have two experienced spinners in the squad and they exactly know what is required from them. Both Ashwin and Jadeja know exactly what is required when ever they come to bowl, what kind of role they want to play its pretty much clear and both are quite attacking in terms of how they want to bowl as well. I am pretty sure whenever they bowl, they obviously look for wicket and they know what is plan B for them.”
”About ICC World Cup Rohit said, ”In World Cup the way we played, but unfortunately could not do it, that was very hard part for all of us, who take part in World cup. Honestly, we work hard for this and manage to play the first games and then the finals. Obviously, there are certain things we did not do well in World cup finals which obviously cost to the games.”
”It is hard but there is so much happening in the life and you have to find out the strength from that, it takes some time, it took time for me as well to come out from that. We got lot of encouragement from outside world, that motivated me personally to get start my job again. As a batter I do batting as well I could, whatever is in front of me would look forward to play.”
”About KL Rahul’s wicket keeping Rohit said Every cricketer have to go through some kind of transformation or different short of role in their career. Hardly few players just stuck to one position and played throughout their career in that position. So, KL is one of them I believe that, the way he played in the World Cup, it was quite pleasing and he will be really working heard and he himself taking that role as well. He plays a solid bat at no. 5 or 6 at whatever the position it be.”
”The position he is batting in the limited over in ODI cricket, we have seen that the most of the things he did is right, he bat really well and understand the game really well and obviously an experienced player knows what exactly required at different stages of the game.”
