Glenn Maxwell, the Australian cricketer, is a key player for the Bangalore franchise in the Indian Premier League. He made his IPL debut in 2012 with Delhi Daredevils.

Born on October 14, 1988, he is currently 35 years old as of 2023.

Maxwell said, ‘The IPL will probably be the last tournament I play because I will play the IPL until I can’t walk anymore. I was talking about how good the IPL has been to me throughout my career and the people I have met. The coaches that I have played with, the international players that I have had the opportunity to rub shoulders with, how beneficial that tournament has been for my entire career.’

In 2014 he played for Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings), amassing 552 runs at an impressive strike rate of 187.75.

Since 2021, Maxwell has been a part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore squad and was bought at Rs 14.25 crore. In the 2021 league, Maxwell accumulated an impressive total of 513 runs in 15 matches. Frequently, he assumed the role of a finisher, capable of accelerating the scoring rate towards the conclusion of an innings.

In the 2022 IPL season, he has scored 301 runs for RCB. But in the 2023 season, Maxwell sustained his form by scoring 400 runs in 14 matches, which included three half-centuries.

Ahead of the IPL 2024 mini-auction, RCB chose to retain Maxwell on their team.

Glenn Maxwell scored a total of 1214 runs across 42 matches while representing RCB in the IPL. He expressed that the most significant learning experience came from sharing the dressing room with Virat Kohli and de Villiers.

Maxwell played 124 matches and accumulated 2719 runs from 2012 to 2023. He has notched 18 half-centuries, with his highest IPL score being 95 runs.

Maxwell is known for his aggressive batting, having struck 226 fours and 158 sixes in the IPL. In the IPL Auction 2023, the Bangalore franchise secured Maxwell’s services for Rs 11.00 Cr.
