Yashasvi Jaiswal became the third youngest Indian to hit double century at the age of 22, achieved the distinction of becoming the third youngest Indian cricketer to score a double century in Test cricket. He accomplished this milestone in 277 balls, playing a crucial role in guiding India to a total of over 350 in the first innings of the game against England on Day 2 in Vizag.

Jaiswal became the fourth left-handed batsman to score a Test double century. The trio of Vinod Kambli, Sourav Ganguly, and Gautam Gambhir were the three left-handed batsmen who had previously accomplished this remarkable feat.

Jaiswal’s previous highest score was 171 in his debut test against West Indies. In India’s first innings, Jaiswal stood out as the top-performing batsman. During his double century, Jaiswal showcased his batting prowess with 18 fours and 7 sixes.

In June 2023, Jaiswal made his first call-up against the West Indies to India’s Test squad. In his debut Test, he clinched a remarkable century, scoring 171 runs. Jaiswal’s outstanding performance earned the Player of the Match award. Subsequently, he made his T20I debut in the third match of the series against the West Indies in August 2023. In the fourth T20I, he achieved his maiden T20I half-century, scoring an unbeaten 84 off 51 balls.

During the first test against England, he showcased his skills by scoring 80 runs off just 74 balls in the first innings. In the second test, Jaiswal score double-century, reaching 209, before ultimately being dismissed.
