On Thursday, Cricket South Africa revealed proteas squads for the upcoming India series, featuring three T20Is, three ODI matches, and two Test matches.

After the disheartening defeat in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Semi-Final matches in 2023 against Australia, South Africa now pays attention towards the World Test Championship and the upcoming T20 World Cup which is to be held in 2024.

South Africa unveiled its squads for the upcoming India series, with Temba Bavuma and Kagiso Rabada will not play both T20 and One Day International (ODI) and will return for the Test series.

Aiden Markram will be the captain for both T20I and ODI matches in Temba Bavuma’s absence.

Quinton de Kock is absent from all formats for the upcoming India series.

Gerald Coetzee, Marco Jansen, and Lungi Ngidi will be absent for both the final T20I and the ODI series.

Three new player – Batter David Bedingham, all-rounder Mihlali Mpongwana, and fast bowler Nandre Burger have started their career in the South Africa national team.

David Bedingham has been added to the Test squad. Mihlali Mpongwana has been included in the ODI squad and Nandre Burger has been selected for all three squads (T20I, ODI, and Test match).

Batsman Tristan Stubbs has been named in the Test squad for the first time.

Wicket-keeper Kyle Verreynne comeback into the ODI and Test squads.

Ottniel Baartman and Wiaan Mulder have been included in both the ODI and Test squads.

Gerald Coetzee, Marco Jansen, and Lungi Ngidi will be absent for the 3rd T20I and the ODI series.

Gerald Coetzee, Marco Jansen, Lungi Ngidi, Bavuma, and Rabada are participating in the upcoming first-class matches with their respective domestic teams from December 14 to 17 as part of their preparation for the Test series.

Anrich Nortje and Wayne Parnell were not included in the selection process as presently going through medical treatment.
