South African skipper Aiden Markram won the toss and chose to bowl first in the 2nd ODI. Rinku Singh made his ODI debut, replacing Shreyas Iyer who will join the Test squad to prepare for the Test series and will take part in the inter-squad game.

Opting to bat first in the 2nd ODI, Team India suffered an early wicket loss with the dismissal of opener Ruturaj Gaikwad in the first over. Opener Sai Sudharsan and Tilak Varma are playing cautiously to stabilize the Indian innings but Tilak Verma could not convert it into a big partnership, as he dismissed by Nandre Burger.

Sai Sudharsan and KL Rahul built a crucial long partnership. Half-centuries by India’s opener Sai Sudharsan and captain KL Rahul contributed to a fightable score. Sai Sudharsan score 62 runs and KL Rahul 56 runs. Burger took three crucial wickets to disrupt India’s batting.

Lizaad Williams dismissed Sai Sudharsan and Beuran Hendricks removed Sanju Samson. Rinku Singh who debuts this match contributed 17 runs.

Nandre Burger made a significant impact by taking three wickets, contributing to an impressive comeback for the hosts. Burger’s efforts limited India to a total of 211 runs in 46.2 overs.

South Africa Innings

South Africa chased a target of 212 runs, and both openers Tony de Zorzi and Reeza Hendricks displayed incredible batting performance. Batting steadily, Tony de Zorzi not only achieved his maiden ODI century but guided his team to an 8-wicket victory, leveling the series at 1-1 against India.

Reeza Hendricks contributed with a half-century (52 runs) before being dismissed by Arshdeep Singh in the 28th over.

Rassie van der Dussen formed a solid partnership with opener Tony de Zorzi. He added 36 runs and was dismissed by Rinku Singh. Rinku Singh achieved his first maiden wicket in his debut match.

Tony de Zorzi scored an unbeaten 119 runs in 122 balls, including 9 fours and 6 sixes.

Arshdeep Singh and Rinku Singh each managed to take one wicket.
