Opting to bat first, the England openers provided a quick start, reaching fifty in 11 overs, India aims to increase the pressure with their spinners but the England openers maintained a positive batting approach. Ashwin gave the 1st brake through by dismissing both the openers Duckett and Zak Crawley.

Ashwin’s breakthrough led to a collapse, with Joe Root and Bairstow stabilizing the innings. Axar’s impressive delivery removed Bairstow and Ravindra Jadeja removed Root, opening another opportunity for India. With Duckett, Crawley, and Pope dismissed, the score of England 108/3. England faced challenges against the spinners Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, and Axar Patel.

Despite losing the toss and being asked to bowl first, they responded effectively, dismissing England for 246. Jaiswal took advantage of England’s tactics, particularly targeting the inexperienced Tom Hartley, who conceded 63 runs in his 8 overs.

Root, who removing the dangerous Jaiswal in the very first over. Gill fell to Hartley, becoming his maiden Test victim. Rehan Ahmed taking the wicket of Shreyas Iyer. But India counterattacked, establishing a lead.

England started the 2nd innings with 190 run chase wit opener Zak Crawley and Duckett. The openers disrupting the Indian spinners’ lengths. Both the openers exhibited aggressiveness although Crawley eventually fell to Ashwin, Duckett continued the attack. This approach also positively influenced Pope, who displayed significant improvement in this innings.

Bumrah played a pivotal role, dismissing Duckett and trapping Root LBW. However, Pope continued to exhibit a positive batting approach, while Jadeja bowled out Bairstow. Ashwin concluded Stokes’ innings.

Despite finding themselves at 163/5, the visitors mounted a comeback. Despite being dropped twice after reaching his century, Pope capitalized his innings bravely stitching crucial partnerships with with the lower order batters Foakes, Rehan Ahmed, and Hartley (112, 64, and 80). England’s vice-captain, Ollie Pope, played an unforgettable innings, accumulating 196 runs. England ultimately reached a total of 420/10. After conceding a 190-run lead, England has set India a target of 231.

Bumrah secured four wickets, while Ashwin took three wickets. Ravindra Jadeja claimed two wickets, and Axar secured one wicket.

England achieved a remarkable comeback victory in Hyderabad. Debutant Tom Hartley’s seven-wicket haul derailed the Indian batsmen. England’s win was a stunning turnaround, especially after their spinners were outperformed in the first innings, with Joe Root emerging as the most effective bowler.
