India revealed the squads for the upcoming all-format tour of South Africa, commencing on December 10th.

On Thursday, the BCCI revealed India’s squads for the upcoming tour of South Africa, featuring three T20Is, three ODI matches, and two Test matches.

After the disheartening defeat in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Final 2023, India now pay attention towards the World Test Championship and the upcoming T20 World Cup which is to be held on 2024.

India unveiled its squads for the upcoming South Africa tour, with Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will not play both T20 and One Day International (ODI).  Suryakumar Yadav will be the captain for T20I squad and Ravindra Jadeja be the vice captain, while KL Rahul will lead the ODIs. Sanju Samson and Patidar make a comeback in ODIs. But Samson was not considered for the Australia T20Is.

But in Test format Both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will be play, where Rohit Sharma will be back to lead the side for the Test match and Jasprit Bumrah is the vice captain. Both players have requested a break from the white-ball segment of the tour for South Africa.

Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara have not been picked in the Test squad. Rahul as the wicketkeeper in the Test squad.

Hardik Pandya will not be participating in all three formats, namely ODI, Test, and T20.

Mohammed Shami makes a comeback to the Test side, but his participation depends on his fitness, as he is presently going through medical treatment.

“Mohd. Shami is currently undergoing medical treatment and his availability is subject to fitness,” said Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Rinku Singh and along with Sai Sudharsan’s impressive performances both in Indian Premier League (IPL) and domestic cricket format have secured him a debut call-up in the ODI format, their skills in both domestic cricket and in the Indian Premier League (IPL) was very excellent.

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Mukesh Kumar, both of them debuted in Test cricket during the West Indies tour, maintaining their positions in Test Cricket.

Shubman Gill, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohd. Siraj and Kuldeep Yadav are back in India’s T20I format. These four cricketers were not included in the ongoing five-match T20I series at home country against Australia.

Avesh Khan Axer Patel, Prasidh Krishna, and Shiva Dube were not picked for the South Africa tour, they are part of India’s T20 team for the Australia tour of India.
