BCCI announced updated Test squad of India, due to personal reason Ishan Kishan requested the BCCI to be free from the upcoming Test series against South Africa. Consequently, the wicket-keeper Ishan Kishan has been excluded from the Test squad and in response, the Men’s Selection Committee has designated Mr. KS Bharat as his replacement.
Mohammed Shami makes a comeback to the Test side, but his participation depends on his fitness, as he is presently going through medical treatment. However, the BCCI Medical Team has not been cleared yet.
On 17th December the first ODI finished in Johannesburg, Shreyas Iyer will not be available for the second and third ODI, he will join the Test squad to prepare for the Test series and will take part in the inter-squad game.
In the Test format, Both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will be played, where Rohit Sharma will be back to lead the side for the Test match and Jasprit Bumrah is the vice-captain. Both players have requested a break from the white-ball segment of the tour for South Africa. KL Rahul is the wicketkeeper in the Test squad.
Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will not play both T20I and One Day International (ODI). Suryakumar Yadav was the captain for the T20I squad and Ravindra Jadeja was the vice-captain, while KL Rahul will lead the ODIs. Sanju Samson and Patidar make a comeback in ODIs. Rinku Singh along with Sai Sudharsan made their debut in ODI (One Day International).
The coaching staff for the ODI team will be supported by India A’s coaching staff, which includes Batting Coach Mr. Sitanshu Kotak, Bowling Coach Mr. Rajib Datta, and Fielding Coach Mr. Ajay Ratra.
Head Coach of the Senior Men’s Team, Mr. Rahul Dravid, along with Batting Coach Mr. Vikram Rathour, Bowling Coach Mr. Paras Mhambrey, and Fielding Coach Mr. T. Dilip, will join the Test squad. They will supervise the team’s preparations for the inter-squad game and the upcoming Test series.
Due to medical emergency Deepak Chahar has informed the BCCI that he will not be available for the upcoming ODI series. The Men’s Selection Committee replaced Deepak Chahar with Akash Deep as his replacement.
