Starc and Hazlewood seized the opportunity, swiftly reducing South Africa to a precarious 24/4. At that juncture, it seemed a repeat of the 2007 semi-final was imminent.

South Africa took the game with just 212 runs on the board and deserves a lot of credit, but, in the end, they cannot ignore the reality that 212 was at least 20-30 runs short on this surface.
