The Sunrisers Hyderabad had a challenging start to the IPL 2024, suffering losses against the Knight Riders and the Gujarat Titans in their first three matches. Their sole victory thus far came against the Mumbai Indians. However, they are now back at home ground for a crucial encounter against the formidable Chennai Super Kings.
Chennai Super Kings has secured two wins out of three matches while suffering a loss from Delhi Capitals. In their last match against the Delhi Capitals, MS Dhoni displayed brilliant batting moments.

CSK starts slowly, Rachin is dismissed early for 12 by Bhuvneshwar. Gaikwad showed promise but failed to capitalize on his start as Shahbaz Ahmed dismissed him.
Shivam Dube, known for his ability to handle spinners well, made a valuable contribution for CSK. Rahane played some attractive strokes but struggled against the SRH pacers’ slower deliveries, eventually getting dismissed by Jaydev Unadkat.
Cummins removed the dangerous Dube. Mitchell had difficulties, but Jadeja played a decent innings to help CSK reach 165. A strong bowling performance from SRH has restricted CSK to a slightly below-par total.
All SRH pacers Bhuvneshwar, T Natarajan, Shahbaz Ahmed, Cummins, and Jaydev Unadkat picked up a wicket each.

SRH started their innings aggressively with Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head, and Aiden Markram leading the charge, scoring 78 runs in the first six overs. Abhishek made a quickfire 27 off Mukesh Choudhary’s first over but was dismissed by Chahar after scoring 37 off just 12 balls.
Travis Head and Markram continued to bat aggressively while the spinners maintained pressure with consecutive overs. Markram reached his fifty off 35 balls but was dismissed by Moeen Ali.
Heinrich Klaasen and Nitish Reddy contributed at the end to secure SRH’s victory over CSK. Despite a commendable performance from Moeen Ali, CSK’s efforts to recover came too late in the match. The defending champions suffered consecutive defeats away from home.
Moeen Ali claimed two wickets, while Deepak Chahar and Maheesh Theekshana each took one wicket.
