India vs England 5th test: Mark Wood returns to England’s playing XI for the fifth and final Test against India in Dharamsala. Although he went wicketless in the first test but picked up four wickets in the third Test. Robinson suffered a back strain during England’s first batting innings and was also unable to bowl in the fourth innings.

India Vice-Captain Jasprit Bumrah who was released from the squad for the 4th Test in Ranchi, will link up with the squad in Dharamsala for the 5th Test. Mark Wood and Bumrah return to 5th test in Dharamsala which will be started from March 7th.

The BCCI Medical Team is closely monitoring Rahul and coordinating with specialists in London for further management of his issue. KL Rahul, whose participation in the final IDFC First Bank Test was subject to fitness, has been ruled out of the fifth and final Test in Dharamsala.

Washington Sundar has been released from the squad. He will join Tamil Nadu, his Ranji Trophy side, for their Ranji Trophy Semi-final fixture against Mumbai, starting March 2nd, 2024. Mohammad Shami successfully underwent surgery on 26th February 2024 for his right heel problem. He is recovering well and will soon head to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru to commence his rehabilitation process.

Devdutt Padikkal is set to replace Rajat Patidar in the 5th test against England and will make his debut in Dharamsala as KL Rahul is not fit to play.

With the Test series win against England, India topped the the World Test Championship standings.

Following their defeat to Australia in Wellington, New Zealand slipped to No. 2 in the rankings. They were previously at the top with 36 points in four games and a points percentage of 75.

India, with 62 points in 8 matches, replaced them at the top of the ICC WORLD TEST CHAMPIONSHIP STANDINGS with a stronger points percentage of 64.58.

Meanwhile, Australia fixed their No. 3 position with a remarkable win over New Zealand. The Australia team gained 12 crucial points, elevating their tally from 66 to 78, and their points percentage rose from 55 to 59.09.

With this win, Australia the 2023 champions have the chance to surpass New Zealand and claim the second spot if they win the ongoing series against their Trans-Tasman rivals.

Australia also has the opportunity to claim the top spot if England defeats India in the Dharamsala Test starting on 7 March.

The two teams Australia and New Zealand are scheduled to face each other in Christchurch, with the final Test commencing on 8 March.

England at the 8th spot with a point percentage of 19.44.
