India vs England 5th test: Mark Wood returns to England’s playing XI for the fifth and final Test against India in Dharamsala. Although he went wicketless in the first test but picked up four wickets in the third Test. Following their defeat to Australia in Wellington, New Zealand slipped to No. 2 in the rankings. They were previously at the top with 36 points in four games and a points percentage of 75.

India, with 62 points in 8 matches, replaced them at the top of the ICC WORLD TEST CHAMPIONSHIP STANDINGS with a stronger points percentage of 64.58.

Meanwhile, Australia fixed their No. 3 position with a remarkable win over New Zealand. The Australia team gained 12 crucial points, elevating their tally from 66 to 78, and their points percentage rose from 55 to 59.09.

With this win, Australia the 2023 champions have the chance to surpass New Zealand and claim the second spot if they win the ongoing series against their Trans-Tasman rivals.

Australia also has the opportunity to claim the top spot if England defeats India in the Dharamsala Test starting on 7 March.

The two teams Australia and New Zealand are scheduled to face each other in Christchurch, with the final Test commencing on 8 March.
