India vs England 4th Test

India vs England 4th Test: Both India and England released their Playing XI. England revealed their playing XI with two changes from their playing XI lineup that featured in the previous match in Rajkot. Rehan Ahmed and Mark Wood will not be played against India in Ranchi, starting on 23 February, in their place Shoaib Bashir and Ollie Robinson will be played.

Robinson is poised to make his Test comeback after recovering from a back spasm suffered during the first innings of the third Ashes Test last July, he replaced fast bowler Mark Wood, who bowled brilliantly in 3rd test at Rajkot. This marks Robinson’s debut appearance in India, where he’ll join James Anderson, who secured just one wicket in the Rajkot Test across both innings.

Shoaib Bashir made his test debut in the second Test at Visakhapatnam, taking 3 for 138 and 1 for 58 in that match. He missed the first against India at Hyderabad due to visa issue. Basir replaced Rehan Ahmad for the fourth test.

Attention will be focused on whether Ben Stokes opts to bowl, as he hinted at a potential return to bowling responsibilities for the remainder of the series in India. Stokes disclosed that he has been practicing bowling during the warm-up sessions between Tests.

India made only one change Jasprit Bumrah would be rested, and Mukesh Kumar would replace him.

The BCCI’s (Board of Control for Cricket in India) Men’s Selection Committee has released Jasprit Bumrah from the squad for the 4th IDFC First Bank Test against England in Ranchi. The decision was taken keeping in mind the duration of the series and amount of cricket he has played in recent times.

Mukesh Kumar, who was released from the squad for the third Test in Rajkot, has joined the squad in Ranchi.

Meanwhile, KL Rahul is ruled out of the 4th Test. He suffered from quadriceps pain sustained in the first test in Hyderabad. His participation in the final Test match in Dharamsala is subject to fitness.

India’s standout batsman Virat Kohli will be absent for the initial two Tests against England. Due to some personal reasons, Virat requested the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to be excluded from the squad for the first two Tests against England. Later on, he will miss all the five tournaments against England.
