It was a massive relief for MI, who were on the brink of losing control in the face of a stunning late assault led by Ashutosh Sharma. At 77/6, with most of their batting line-up dismissed, PBKS appeared to be in a hopeless situation in the run-chase. However, Ashutosh turned the tables with a sensational 28-ball 61, bringing PBKS back into contention out of nowhere. He executed some helicopter pulls, hit a six off Bumrah, punished Madhwal, and momentarily left MI struggling. However, his dismissal in the deep when PBKS were just 25 runs away from the target halted their momentum, and the lower-order couldn’t finish the job.
Once again, Bumrah stood out for MI, taking wickets early on and later breaking a dangerous partnership by dismissing Shashank Singh. He maintained his tight line and length even as other bowlers were conceding runs, showcasing his skill once more.
